Small on purpose.

A four-person practice is not a stepping stone to something bigger. It is the thing.

We started the studio in 2021 with the conviction that the agency model was broken in two specific places — the pricing structure (open-ended retainers that disconnected effort from outcome) and the engagement length (the twelve-week project that was almost never twelve weeks of actual work). Five years later we are four people working out of an old kontorbygning on Mastruplundvej in Støvring, every engagement priced as a fixed line item or a written-cap retainer, and every project shaped around a written brief produced in the first week.

We are small on purpose. The studio at this size is the thing it should be: every senior on every project, every brief read by every person who will work on it, every difficult call made in a room where everyone has the context. There is a version of this studio at twelve people that delivers more revenue and worse work. We are not interested in it.

We work in English with clients across Europe and in Danish with clients in Denmark. We invoice in euros and add 25% Danish moms (VAT) for Danish clients; reverse-charge applies to the rest of the EU; clients outside the EU are not charged VAT. Payment is by Stripe for the services purchased through this site, and by SEPA bank transfer or card on invoice for larger custom engagements.

We will say no to a project that does not fit. We will say no to a tool we do not believe in. We will say no to a budget that does not match the brief. None of that is rudeness. It is honesty about what the work needs to be good. The fastest way to find out whether we are a fit is to file a brief — we reply within two working days, in writing, with one of three answers.

Process

What an engagement actually looks like.

Six phases. Same shape every time. Skipped only on rare occasion. Never collapsed.

01 — The brief

Every engagement starts with a written brief — produced by us, ratified by you. We agree on what is in scope, what is explicitly out, what is being delivered, and what success looks like in three months.

02 — Two directions

For any project with a visual component, we present two distinct creative directions at the end of week one. Two genuinely different paths, not three variations of the same path. You pick.

03 — Build in public

You see the work daily on a private URL. There are no big reveals, no surprises at the end. Every Friday we send a written summary of what we changed and what we are working on next week.

04 — The boring half

Empty states, error states, edge cases, the small print, the page that nobody clicks. We spend as much time on the boring half as on the obvious half. Most projects fail in the boring half.

05 — Handover with intent

A live training session, a recorded walkthrough, and a written field manual. We are explicit about what we are no longer responsible for, and we make sure your team can edit, deploy, and maintain.

06 — A year of attention

Every engagement closes with a year of light attention included — we read the analytics, file an annual review, and tell you what we would change if we were starting again.

Principles

Six things we hold to.

Re-examined every quarter. The version that survives is the one we still believe.

Write the brief first.

If we cannot describe the engagement in a single document, we do not start. The brief protects you. It protects us. It is not bureaucracy. It is the work.

Two directions, not three variations.

For any creative decision worth making, there are at most two genuinely different paths. Presenting three is a tell that we have not done the thinking yet.

Ship the boring half.

The page nobody clicks, the error state, the empty state, the small print. The boring half is where projects fail and where we spend half our time.

Measure the right thing.

Lab metrics and synthetic tests are useful. They are not the metric. The metric is what real users on real devices experience.

Hand over with intent.

Training, a written manual, a recorded walkthrough. We are explicit about what we will no longer be responsible for the day after handover.

Say no for the right reasons.

A brief that does not fit, a budget that does not match the scope, a deadline that is theatrical. Saying no is part of the service.
